While I was away at college, Dad built a silo on the farm. It reached 60 feet into the air and was just begging to be climbed. After all, my 2 youngest sisters had climbed it, so I figured it was no big deal. I wanted to take a picture from the top with my handy dandy 110 camera.
The rungs were almost two feet apart, and one was even missing. My legs felt like rubber, but what kept me going was knowing the little kids had accomplished this feat. I made it to the top weak and panting. All those all-nighters, living on flat Vernors and Snickers were catchng up to me.
I held on with one hand and leaned out to snap the photo you see. Then I gingerly retraced my climb, restraining myself from kissing the good Canadian dirt when I made it safely down.
